£1.4bn flood investment unleashed to protect homes and businesses
The government announced £1.4 billion for flood defences in 2026/27, including more than 600 projects intended to improve protection for tens of thousands of homes and businesses. The programme includes barriers, embankments, coastal defences and natural flood-management schemes.
