About Us
Prepared Base is about one thing: household resilience.
We rely on more systems than we probably realise. Power, water, food supply, communications, payments, transport. Most of the time they work quietly in the background. But when they don’t, even a short disruption can put real pressure on a household.
And those pressures are growing. Extreme weather, cyber attacks, supply chain disruption, infrastructure failure and other unexpected events are becoming harder to dismiss as someone else’s problem.
Prepared Base exists to help ordinary households be more ready for them by helping pull together useful information, practical guidance and carefully chosen products that help people reduce their dependence on everything working perfectly all of the time.

Introducing the
Prepared Index
At the centre of the site is the Prepared Index — a quick assessment of household preparedness designed to highlight strengths, identify gaps and show where greater resilience may be needed.
From there, Prepared Base helps you act on it. That might mean improving water storage, backup power, food supplies, communications or simply understanding what to do when something goes wrong.

Government guidance can tell people they should prepare. We want to help answer the next question: how?
Most people who use Prepared Base will hopefully never face a serious emergency. But if something here helps someone stay safer, cope better or protect the people around them when normal life is disrupted, then it has served its purpose.
Be informed. Be resilient. Be prepared.
